Our Top 5 Tips For Stress Free Christmas Shopping

We know for some it’s still early, but people are already talking about and buying Christmas gifts, so we thought we’d share our knowledge and expertise and hopefully make your Christmas gift buying as easy and stress-free as possible!

1/ Keep it simple. Write a list of the people you need to buy for and keep it with you at all times (you never know when inspiration may strike!)

2/ Set a budget for each person and stick to it! This year especially we are hearing a lot of people asking for help with gift ideas within a set budget. We all know how easy it is to get carried away when buying Christmas presents; caught up in the moment, and before you know it you’ve spent all your money and only got presents for half of your list.

3/ Tackle the difficult people first. Everyone has a friend or family member who is difficult to buy for and most of us leave them until last, just adding extra pressure. Tackle them first and then the other gift buying is simple and possibly even pleasurable!

4/ Take advantage of the tools at your disposal. Research your ideas online in the comfort of your home and even if you decide not to buy online, you can take your inspiration and a list of shops you’d like to visit.

5/ Give yourself time. When under pressure we all panic buy and generally end up with something that’s not quite right or we are unhappy with. If you can’t spare a day or a few hours to get all your gifts at once set aside 15 minutes in your lunch hour and buy one gift at a time. If you’ve followed our tips you will know who you’re buying for and possibly have a present in mind already.

Follow these tips and Christmas gift shopping should be a breeze. Don’t forget you can shop with us online 24/7 (you’d be amazed at what time of day some people shop!). Check out our gifts departments for ideas and choose from ‘gifts under£10, £20 or £30 to make things even simpler.

Happy Shopping!
